Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 is officially on the menu, and the hype is real. The series better known in Japan as ‘Dungeon Meshi’ closed its first run on a high, then immediately confirmed that more is coming. Below is a simple, spoiler light guide to what is known now, what season 1 covered, and why many expect the next course to finish the feast. To catch up or rewatch, the series streams worldwide on Netflix.

Production Status and Release Window

The follow up was announced the same day the Season 1 finale aired, with a new visual and a quick teaser confirming that production is underway. No date was attached at the time, and there has been no official schedule since that reveal.

Industry minded watchers have offered reasonable timelines based on how the first season was made and how studios sequence projects. One view puts the latest window somewhere in 2025, while a more cautious expectation points to 2026. Others suggest the wait could stretch even longer depending on scheduling conflicts and how the pipeline is managed, which is why some place the window between 2026 and 2027.

Season One Recap in Two Bites

Season 1 ran for 24 episodes and covered a little over half the manga. By the finale, the anime had adapted chapter 52 ‘Bacon and Eggs’ out of 97 chapters total across 14 volumes. The pacing averaged about two chapters per episode, with the occasional longer episode and a few scenes that expanded moments for tone and character beats.

Along the way, viewers warmed to the party chemistry and the show’s clever worldbuilding hook. The tone begins cozy and episodic with inventive cooking, then grows more dramatic as the deeper rules of the dungeon and its inhabitants come into focus. As Laios puts it early on,

“Let’s eat the monsters!” - Laios Touden

That steady turn toward higher stakes is part of why the finale landed as cleanly as it did, and why anticipation for the next course is so high.

What Season Two Is Set to Cover

Because season 1 stopped at chapter 52, the next season naturally starts with chapter 53 and pushes into the final stretch. Without diving into plot specifics, it continues the party’s effort to save Falin, confront Thistle the lunatic magician, and deal with the Winged Lion. The setup also points toward bigger clashes and more emotionally heavy moments as the group tries to keep the dungeon in balance while reaching their goal.

Expect the story to be less monster of the week and more momentum driven. The comedy and food craft remain part of the soul of the show, but the stakes rise noticeably through these arcs. That balance between warm character humor and serious payoffs is what many praised throughout Season 1, and it carries forward here.

How Many Episodes Fans Expect

There is no official episode count yet. That said, the numbers line up neatly for another two cour run. Season 1 adapted about half the manga across 24 episodes and left roughly 45 chapters for the finish. At the established pace, that fits comfortably into the same ballpark, possibly with room to fold in a little bonus material.

Viewers also pointed out that irregular counts are not uncommon for popular shows when it helps the pacing. Some recent series have landed on 20 or 21 episodes rather than a standard 24. Season 1 even included a few slightly longer episodes, which is another tool a production can use to keep the rhythm of the story without rushing.

Staff Cast and Studio Notes

Studio Trigger returns. The season 2 announcement carried the same core staff credits that defined the first season’s feel, led by director Yoshihiro Miyajima, series composition by Kimiko Ueno, and music by Yasunori Mitsuda and Shunsuke Tsuchiya. The show’s fidelity to the manga and its clear sense of taste and timing came from that team, so continuity here is a strong signal. As director Yoshihiro Miyajima noted about planning ahead,

“There are still characters among the Canaries who have only spoken a word or two… I’m really glad we got a second season.” - Yoshihiro Miyajima

On the cast side, nothing official has changed. Given how well received both language tracks were, it would be surprising to see major shifts. The English dub in particular drew lots of praise, from Damien Haas as Laios to Emily Rudd as Marcille and SungWon Cho as Senshi.

Where To Watch and New Teaser

Netflix streamed season 1 weekly and is the place most people watched it. With that history and the immediate renewal announcement, it is sensible to expect the same home for the next season unless an official change is shared later. If you want a taste of what the team has cooking, the short video shown with the renewal tease includes new shots that clearly belong to Season 2 material, including a face off that fans of the manga will recognize. Why The Hype Is Still Building

The manga is complete, and the author was known to favor waiting until the story finished before allowing an adaptation. That background matters because it raises confidence that the anime will reach a proper end rather than stopping mid arc. Season 1 already proved how well the material animates, how nicely the recipes and ecology fold into the worldbuilding, and how deftly the show can pivot from playful to touching moments.

Viewers also shared a few fun side notes. The breakout appeal reached plenty of people who do not usually watch anime, thanks to its mix of tabletop flavor, smart monster logic, and a party you can root for. The show even found time for sly nods and a handful of longer episodes that let scenes breathe. That same mix should shine even brighter as the party ventures through the final floors.

The Simple Bottom Line

Season 2 is confirmed and in production. There is no official date yet, and expectations cluster around a window that ranges from late 2025 at the very earliest to 2026 or beyond, depending on schedules. The most likely shape is another two cour run that adapts the rest of the manga at the same measured pace.

Until the next serving arrives, there is Season 1 to revisit on Netflix, plenty of chatter to enjoy, and a teaser that hints at the dramatic plates being prepared in the kitchen. When it lands, Delicious in Dungeon looks set to finish the story with the same care and craft that defined its wonderful first course.
