If you've been glued to your screen watching Tamon's B-Side and immediately went into a spiral the moment the final episode ended, same. This show came out of nowhere and absolutely wrecked everyone emotionally in the best way possible. Tamon's B-Side Season 2 is now the one thing the anime community can't stop talking about, and honestly, the hype makes complete sense. Based on the manga by Yuki Shiwasu, the series - known in Japan as Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? - quietly became one of the biggest sleeper hits of winter 2026, pulling in viewers on Crunchyroll who had no idea they were about to become completely obsessed.

Season 1 Had Everyone in a Chokehold and Now We Need More

So, here's the deal with Season 1. Utage is a passionate fan of the idol group F/ACE, and by some wild twist of fate, she is assigned to work as a housekeeper at the home of one of the group's actual members, Tamon. What follows is this really fun, really sweet back-and-forth where two people slowly start seeing each other beyond their public faces. Then Ouri gets thrown into the mix and suddenly there's a love triangle making everything ten times more complicated and ten times more interesting. If you haven't watched it yet, seriously, go catch all the episodes on Crunchyroll right now. You won't regret it.

The team at J.C.STAFF packed 7 volumes of manga into 13 episodes, and they did it without making anything feel rushed or hollow. Writer Chiaki Nagai spoke about the balancing act behind it all, saying,

"I wanted to prioritize the romcom side of the story. I tried to balance everything out so it didn't turn into a fully idol series, but I didn't want F/ACE to lose any of their charm, either." - Chiaki Nagai, Head Writer

They even added original performance scenes and little background details - like what books each F/ACE member would have on their shelves - that made the whole world feel lived in. The finale hit hard, and the brief glimpse of a character who doesn't even appear until later in the manga left fans convinced that this story is far from over. Here's What Season 2 Would Probably Cover

For anyone who has been reading ahead in the manga, the potential Season 2 content is genuinely exciting stuff. Based on where Season 1 left off, here's what could be coming:

  1. The Rintaro arc, which readers keep saying is going to be absolutely peak television once it's animated
  2. The Daiki arc, which is the kind of storyline that causes thousands of social media posts in a single day
  3. The Kohaku arc, another fan favorite that readers have been waiting to see brought to life
  4. The "friends" arc, which digs deeper into the relationships at the core of the whole story
  5. More of F/ACE actually being idols, with performances and the contrast between their public and private lives

Manga readers are practically vibrating with excitement over these arcs, especially knowing how well the animation team handled Season 1.

When Could Season 2 Actually Happen

Nothing official has been confirmed yet, but the people behind the anime have been pretty open about wanting to continue. In an interview with Collider, director Chika Nagaoka said,

"I'd like to continue trying out various new possibilities with this team we have. Us getting a Season 2 or not really depends on everyone's support, so it would make me very happy if everyone could continue showing their support." - Chika Nagaoka, Director

Writer Chiaki Nagai expressed similar feelings about the story deserving more. As for timing, Season 1 took roughly one and half year from announcement to actually airing. If Season 2 follows a similar path, a realistic window would probably be somewhere around late 2027 or early 2028. It's not the news fans want to hear, but given the level of quality in Season 1, waiting for something done right seems worth it.

The Concert, the Album, and Why the Franchise Feels Very Much Alive

Here's the thing that keeps hope alive more than anything else. F/ACE is being treated like an actual idol group, not just anime characters. Their debut album Nautical Star dropped on April 8, and a live F/ACE concert in Tokyo is scheduled for this November with all the voice actors confirmed to appear. Fan meetings across Japan are also in the works.

This kind of real-world rollout costs money and planning. Franchises don't invest this heavily unless there's a bigger picture being built. It's a bit like how Rent-a-Girlfriend kept getting seasons largely because the merchandise ecosystem around it never stopped thriving. The marketing around Tamon's B-Side is still very much running, which suggests the production side hasn't quietly moved on.

Fans Are Not Quietly Waiting Around

The community around this show is genuinely passionate and motivated. Streaming Season 1 on repeat, buying the manga volumes and official merchandise, and supporting the music releases are all being treated as real ways to push toward a renewal. At Anime Japan 2026, there were enough hints dropped by the cast to keep everyone's hopes firmly up, even without a hard announcement.

While waiting, if speculation articles are your thing, our pieces on Chained Soldier Season 3 and To Your Eternity Season 4 are worth a read too. And when you're done spiraling about Season 2, head back to Crunchyrolland rewatch Season 1. It genuinely holds up.
