Sung Suho is the new face of the Solo Leveling world a.k.a Solo leveling Ragnorak, and viewers feel like he might walk a path similar to that of his father. With, Sung Jinwoo known as the legendary Shadow Monarch, it raises the question: Could Suho also take on those powers and become the next Shadow Monarch? In Solo Leveling Ragnarok, the sequel series, the answer to this question is given in a way that is bound to leave you surprised.
Let’s dive into Suho’s journey and see if he’s really set to wear the Shadow Monarch’s crown or become something even better.
Suho Has Inherited Shadow Powers but Not the Throne
Since Suho was born after Jinwoo took the title of Shadow Monarch, he naturally inherited some shadow abilities as well. He has access to skills like, Shadow Extraction, Shadow Exchange and Monarch’s Domain, each of which made Jinwoo a feared figure across different dimensions. In the beginning, Suho could only extract just a few shadows which wouldn’t last long. While Jinwoo had stored dozens of shadows, Suho was able to store only one shadow to begin with.
He, however, still managed to find a clever way around it. He held the bodies of defeated enemies in Shadow Dungeons and later returned to them to extract their shadows whenever needed. Suho eventually gained the power to permanently store shadows, but not nearly as much as his father could do.
So yes, Suho has Shadow powers, but he’s not the next Shadow Monarch. At least, not in the way fans might expect.
Jinwoo Is Still the Shadow Monarch and He’s Not Going Anywhere!
One of the biggest reasons Suho can’t become the next Shadow Monarch is simple, Jinwoo still holds that title. He hasn’t disappeared like Ashborn did before him. In fact, Jinwoo is still fighting the biggest threat to the universe, the Outer Gods, also known as Itarim.
He’s not just alive, but more powerful than ever. With immortality and reality-bending abilities, Jinwoo remains the strongest being in existence. For Suho to take his place, Jinwoo would have to give up his powers. But let’s be honest, that’s not happening. The world still needs Jinwoo, and so does Suho.
Even though it is Suho’s story now, Jinwoo’s presence continues to shape the path his son walks on.
Suho’s True Destiny Lies with the Monarch of Destruction
Here’s the major twist. Suho might not become the next Shadow Monarch, but he’s actually being trained to take on something possibly more intense, the powers of Antares, the former Monarch of Destruction. This gives Suho a unique identity and separates his journey from Jinwoo’s.
In the Realm of Death, Suho meets Antares, and through a deal made by Jinwoo, Antares begins training Suho to inherit his powers. This change makes total sense. Instead of becoming a copy of Jinwoo, Suho steps into his own spotlight as a different kind of Monarch, one built for raw strength and destruction.
With the mix of his father’s Shadow powers and Antares’s destructive strength, Suho is shaping up to be a new kind of legend.
The System Is Evolving Just for Suho
Just like Jinwoo, Suho begins his journey with a System. However, his version is tweaked to better fit his growth. It starts with The Tutorial, a special training zone created by Jinwoo. Here, Suho fights against top-tier shadows like Beru, Bellion, and even Jinwoo himself.
He defeats them all, proving his massive potential. Though he loses those powers after the training ends, the System later returns, stronger and more personalized than before. This allows Suho to level up faster and complete challenges quicker than Jinwoo ever did.
While he starts as an E-Rank, Suho quickly rises to A-Rank in the webtoon and even S-Rank in the web novel. His fast progress shows he’s destined for greatness, even if the path isn’t the same as his father’s.
Suho Is Becoming a New Kind of Hero Not a Copy of His Father
It would be too predictable if Suho just became the next Shadow Monarch. Thankfully, Solo Leveling Ragnarok doesn’t take that route. Suho’s journey is different, more personal, and full of creative twists. He has to train harder, fight tougher enemies without a full Shadow Army, and forge his identity separate from his father’s legacy.
Jinwoo is still around, but instead of stepping aside, he’s helping Suho grow by building the system, sending Beru to train him, and even reviving Antares to pass on the Monarch of Destruction title. That’s what makes Suho’s story exciting. He’s not just inheriting power, he’s earning it in his own way.
Whether or not he ever becomes stronger than Jinwoo, one thing is clear, he’s not here to copy his father. He’s here to become something new.
Final Thoughts
Sung Suho is not becoming the next Shadow Monarch, and that’s a good thing. Instead, he’s on the path to become the Monarch of Destruction, making his own legend in the world of Solo Leveling Ragnarok. With parts of Jinwoo’s powers, the guidance of Beru and Antares, and his own raw talent, Suho is becoming the next great hero - but on his own terms.
The future of this universe is in safe hands. Not because Suho is Jinwoo’s son, but because he’s Sung Suho, the rising storm.
