After a thrilling ride across three adrenaline-packed seasons, Tokyo Revengers is charging forward once again. The story of Takemichi and his desperate fight to change the past has captivated anime fans worldwide since its debut in 2021. From saving his childhood love Hinata to taking on some of the most notorious gang leaders in the Tokyo Manji world, each season has only raised the stakes and the emotions. Now, with the season 4 release officially confirmed, fans are already gearing up for what might be the most intense chapter yet.
The Journey So Far with Takemichi and the Gangs

Season 1 introduced us to Takemichi Hanagaki, a down-on-his-luck guy who gets a second shot at life quite literally when he’s pushed onto train tracks and suddenly transported 12 years into the past. What starts as a mission to save his ex-girlfriend soon transforms into a high-stakes war against fate as Takemichi dives deeper into the dangerous world of gang violence, brotherhood, and betrayal.
Season 2 followed with the intense Christmas Showdown Arc, while Season 3 threw us straight into the chaos of the Tenjiku Arc, one of the most loved and emotionally heavy arcs in the manga. While fans loved the plot development, many felt the pacing rushed through critical events. With so much story still left, everyone’s been wondering: What’s next?
If you’re still catching up, Seasons 2 and 3 are currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu, while Season 1 remains available on Crunchyroll.
Season 4 is Officially Happening but Not Anytime Soon
Here’s the exciting part! Tokyo Revengers Season 4 is officially in production. While fans initially hoped for a 2025 release, it’s been confirmed through a trailer drop and announcements on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) that season 4 will instead release in 2026. The production team has promised a quality boost, taking their time to make the visuals and storytelling even better than before. If you missed the trailer, now’s your chance to check it out below.
New Arcs and Big Moments Are Coming Your Way
Season 4 is expected to dive straight into the Bonten Arc, which picks up after the events of Tenjiku and showcases Takemichi returning to a future that is even darker and more twisted. But that’s not all! The trailer also hints at the inclusion of the Three Deities Arc, suggesting we may be getting more than just one storyline this time.
With Bonten spanning chapters 186 to 206 and the Three Deities Arc continuing through chapter 235, fans are buzzing with theories. Some believe we might also see pieces of the Kanto Manji Arc, making this possibly the final season. That said, depending on pacing and how much they choose to adapt, a 5th season could still happen.
In comparison, anime like Wind Breaker, which also recently adapted a second season (you can check out more on that here), have taken a similar arc-based approach to storytelling. But unlike Wind Breaker, Tokyo Revengers is speeding toward a finale.
Familiar Faces and Fan-Favorite Characters Return

We can expect the core Japanese voice cast to return, including:
- Yuki Shin as Takemichi Hanagaki
- Yuu Hayashi as Mikey (Sano Manjiro)
- Mariya Ise as Senju Kawagari
- Junya Enoki, Natsuki Hanae, and Nobunaga Shimazaki, among others
Fans are especially excited to see more of Senju, hoping that her signature pink hair from the manga makes a return. There’s also hope for a more emotional build-up in fights, like the anticipated clash between Senju and Sanzu. Some are even asking the creators to make these key scenes more heartfelt to truly do the characters justice.
Could This Be the Final Ride or Is Season 5 in Sight?
There’s still debate among fans whether Season 4 will wrap the story or if there’s enough content left for a Season 5. Since Bonten and Three Deities together span around 50 chapters, and past seasons have covered similar chapter counts in 13 episodes, it’s possible the anime team is prepping to close the story. However, if they aim for a detailed and high-quality ending, a fifth season might still be on the table.
A few passionate fans have even suggested creative ideas, like adapting Bonten as a movie and ending the story with a feature-length finale. Others feel a 20+ episode season is necessary to do justice to the final arcs, especially given that some of the anime’s animation quality dipped in earlier seasons. A longer production time could help maintain a higher standard throughout.
Fans Are Still Wishing for English Dubs and More

One displeased point for international fans has been the lack of English dubs for Season 3, which was a departure from previous seasons. Many are hopeful that if Season 4 performs well, it could push the studios to dub the previous season and continue dubbing for season 4. While some viewers love watching with subtitles, others feel dubbed versions help them enjoy the action more without missing the intense fight sequences.
There's also strong demand for consistency in animation and character design, especially for iconic figures like Sanzu. Sanzu’s changing hair color between the anime and manga, for instance, has sparked plenty of discussion, with the anime featuring a bleached blonde look while the manga keeps his signature rosy pink. Fans want Sanzu’s pink hair back during the Bonten arc and are keen on keeping characters visually true to the manga.
Wrapping Up with High Hopes and Bigger Stakes
With the stakes higher than ever, Season 4 of Tokyo Revengers promises emotional reunions, fierce showdowns, and possibly a step closer to the anime’s conclusion. The fact that the original manga has already ended in 2022 gives the anime a clear path forward. What’s left now is for the production team to deliver a season that lives up to its incredible story.
Tokyo Revengers fans, your patience might just be rewarded with the best season yet!
