Will Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer Return for Season 2?

So, you finished Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer, also called “Yuusha Party o Tsuiho Sareta Shiro Madoshi” in Japanese, and now you're sitting there thinking, “Wait… that’s it?” Yeah, you’re not alone. A lot of us were kind of hoping for more, especially after the way Season 1 wrapped up. There were some posts floating around that made it sound like a sequel was confirmed, but that info seems to have come from speculation - not the studio itself. Felix Film, the folks behind the show, haven’t made any formal announcement. As of now, we’re still waiting.
Quick Recap of Season 1 for Newcomers or Anyone Who Forgot
The story kicks off with Lloyd, a white mage who gets kicked out of the Hero’s party because everyone thinks he’s weak. Big mistake. Turns out, Lloyd is way stronger than he lets on. He gets picked up by a group of powerful S-rank adventurers who actually realize how talented he is, and the whole season is basically about him adjusting to this new life and proving his worth.
The anime nailed the underdog vibe and had a good balance of action, comedy, and heart. As voice actor M.A.O put it,
“The gap between Lloyd, who thinks he lacks ability, and comrades who recognize how out-of-the-ordinary he really is, makes for funny, addictive moments.” - M.A.O (Claire VA)
Yeah, it leaned into some classic fantasy anime tropes, but it was fun. Around episode 10, the show started veering off from the light novel and did its own thing a bit, which makes sense since they probably didn’t want to open a new arc with just a few episodes left.
Why We Haven’t Heard About Season 2 Yet

Here’s the truth: most anime aren’t made with sequels in mind. A lot of the time, they’re more like advertisements for the manga or light novel. Unless the first season really blows up in terms of Blu-ray sales, merch, or streaming numbers, the studio might not be in a rush to bring it back.
The show actually did okay on Crunchyroll. It has a generally positive rating on Crunchyroll, with many viewers giving it strong scores. But unless Crunchyroll actually funded the anime (they didn’t), that doesn’t automatically mean we’re getting more episodes.
That said, just because we haven’t heard anything yet doesn’t mean all hope is lost. It’s pretty normal for anime announcements to take a while. It could be six months, a year, or even longer before we hear anything.
If It Happens, When Could Season 2 Drop?
Season 1 aired in mid-2025. If a Season 2 got the green light sometime in 2026, then we’re probably looking at a 2027 release - if we’re being realistic. Production takes time, and since this isn’t some mega-hit like Attack on Titan or Demon Slayer, it won’t get fast-tracked.
Where the Story Could Go Next

Good news here: there’s plenty of content left. The light novel by Sora Suigetsu is still ongoing, and the manga is continuing too. If you want to keep going right now:
- Pick up the light novel at Volume 2, Chapter 5
- Or jump into the manga starting from Volume 4, Chapter 18
Season 2 would have a lot to cover. Here’s what could be next:
- Lloyd starts to realize how powerful he actually is and steps up. As Gakuto Kajiwara put it,
“Lloyd has low self-esteem, and one charm of the series is how he learns to recognize himself as he meets new comrades and grows through battles.” - Gakuto Kajiwara, voice of Lloyd.
- We get deeper looks into the other S-rank adventurers’ backstories
- The old Hero’s party starts falling apart without him
- Bigger enemies show up, and Lloyd has to take more responsibility
- Sheena’s history gets fleshed out more
- The tone might shift to something a little more serious, but still fun
Some Extra Info That’s Been Floating Around

Not too long ago, a bunch of people got the idea that Season 2 had already been announced. It all seemed to come from some posts getting passed around online, but nothing official ever came out of it. The only real news was the stuff promoting Season 1’s 2025 release. No word about a second season. It just looked like plans were in motion, when really, it was all just guesses and people getting a little too excited a little too early.
Now, there are folks who believe this show was only ever meant to be one season. That happens a lot with anime based on light novels. They're mostly there to boost book sales, not run for multiple seasons. But others have pointed out that the anime only adapted the story up through part of volume 2 in the light novel, and there’s still a good amount left. So, a second season’s definitely possible.
Some even mentioned they liked Scooped Up more than some other fantasy series, saying the characters were easier to connect with and the visuals looked cleaner. Honestly, it’s a pretty fair take.
Where to Stream the Show (and Rewatch While You Wait)
If you haven’t seen it yet - or if you just want to go through it again - Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer is available on Crunchyroll, with English subtitles. It’s probably the best way to support the series right now.
Also, if you want a quick refresher, check out the Season 1 trailer down below and still holds up pretty well.
And while you're here, you might want to check out our recent articles on Sword of the Demon Hunter Season 2 and Chained Soldier Season 2 too - lots of good stuff coming up.
So… Will We Ever See Season 2?
Honestly, the odds are somewhere in the middle. It’s not a sure thing, but it’s not dead either. With the source material still going strong and a solid fanbase behind it, there’s hope. If fans keep watching, talking about it, and maybe even checking out the novels or manga, that might help tip the scales.
For now, we wait. Keep an eye out for updates, support the series however you can, and let’s hope we see Lloyd and the gang back on screen sooner rather than later.
