Okay, so if you've been keeping up with Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu), you already know Season 3 has been a wild ride. But let's be honest, half the fandom right now isn't even talking about the current episodes anymore, they're talking about Season 4. When is it happening? Is it even confirmed? Here's what we actually know so far, and a few educated guesses along the way.

Catching Up on Season 3 Real Quick

Rudeus has been through a lot this season, and honestly it's felt like one of the more emotionally loaded stretches of the whole series. It makes you look back to the very first episode of the anime, when he confidently declared,

"In this world, I'm going to give it my all" - Rudeus Greyrat, Episode 1

While his early journey through the Demon Continent pushed him into some intense situations, but what really stood out recently was seeing Perugius open up a bit. He's usually this untouchable, larger-than-life figure, so watching him show a warmer, more curious side after the group earned his respect was kind of unexpected in a good way.

Then there's the stuff with Nanahoshi, which honestly hits different. Her condition isn't fully resolved even after everything the group went through to help her, and that lingering uncertainty adds this quiet tension underneath the more action-heavy moments. Add in that unsettling visit from the Man God, and yeah, Rudeus has a lot on his plate heading into the last few episodes. If you haven't caught up yet, it's all streaming on Crunchyroll with both subs and dub.

So, What's Left in Season 3

There are only three episodes left before this first cour wraps up, and things are clearly heading toward some kind of confrontation. It's hard not to think back to what his father Paul once told him,

"Rudeus... grow up to be a man who can protect what's important to him" - Paul Greyrat, Season 2

That whole situation with the Man God's cryptic request, followed by a mystery visitor practically begging Rudeus not to dig further, feels like it's setting up a moment where there's no clean answer no matter what he chooses.

  1. Episode 12 drops September 13, 2026
  2. Episode 13 drops September 20, 2026
  3. Episode 14 drops September 27, 2026

After that, the second cour is expected to continue the story, though we don't have a confirmed date yet for when it picks back up. While you're waiting, it's honestly worth rewatching the official Season 3 trailer, there's a lot in there that hits different once you've seen how the story's unfolded so far.

Realistically When Could Season 4 Drop

Here's the thing, nobody's officially confirmed a Season 4 yet. Creator Rifujin no Magonote actually addressed this directly not too long ago, saying it's not really his call to make, but if the studio decides to move forward, he's ready to help however he can. That's not a confirmation, but it's not nothing either.

Looking at how the gaps between seasons have gone before, and considering Season 3 itself is stretched across two full cours, a fair guess would put Season 4 somewhere in late 2027 or 2028, maybe later. Worth remembering too that Studio Bind was apparently created specifically to adapt this entire light novel series, so there's a pretty strong reason to believe they're not planning to stop halfway through the story.

What The Light Novels Suggest for Season 4

Assuming the anime keeps following the source material in order, there's a good chunk of story waiting to be adapted. Based on what's covered in the novels around this point, expect:

  1. The Shirone arc, which brings in a pretty big military conflict involving Rudeus defending an old friend's fort
  2. The Millis arc, which leans more into political and religious drama across the world
  3. Some new character introductions that end up mattering a lot more later on
  4. A noticeably slower pace in parts, since a lot of this stretch is really just setup for bigger stuff down the line

Not every part of this section is considered a fan favorite, if we're being real. But it's generally seen as necessary groundwork, especially once the story reaches the grand Biheiril Kingdom, which a lot of readers consider where things start getting genuinely gripping again.

What Fans Are Actually Saying

Most of the buzz online leans pretty optimistic. A lot of people don't think cancellation is even a realistic worry at this point, given how consistently popular the show has stayed. Some are even half joking that with how much material is left, this might end up needing a Season 5 or 6 before it's actually done.

There's also been some noticeable back and forth between international and Japanese fans, especially with a wave of extra support showing up for the creator lately. Even with the mixed takes floating around, the overall vibe still feels hopeful that this story is getting the full adaptation it deserves.

While you're here, it's also worth checking out our coverage on Snowball Earth Season 2 and Witch Hat Atelier Season 2, both of which are shaping up to be pretty solid watches this year too.
