MAO Season 2 Release Date Predictions and What's Next

What starts as a weird rescue mission turns into something much bigger once Nanoka realizes she's got powers of her own, and the show never really lets up from there. By this point Nanoka's come a long way from the kid who fainted after losing an arm in episode one. She's fighting with a sword now, she's got real chemistry with the rest of the cast, and the Natsuno arc has added a genuinely creepy layer to the whole thing, centuries of body part collecting will do that. What's Left for Episodes 25 and 26

1. Episode 25 drops September 19, 2026 and looks like it's sending Nanoka undercover at an all-girls school, which could mean a showdown with Kagari.
2. Episode 26 drops September 26, 2026 as the finale, and it'll probably close out the Natsuno mystery, or at least enough of it to leave fans satisfied.

Don't expect everything to get tied up in a neat bow though. Takahashi has never been the type to rush her big reveals, so a partial answer followed by a cliffhanger feels a lot more likely than a full resolution. So, When Is Season 2 Actually Coming

Nothing's been confirmed yet, but honestly, the signs are pointing in a good direction. Getting greenlit for a full 26 episode run with zero breaks isn't something studios do on a whim, that takes real confidence in the material. And since the manga's still going strong with plenty left to adapt, this feels a lot less like a "will there be a Season 2" situation and more of a "when."

How People Are Actually Feeling About It

Reactions have been a mix of nostalgia and cautious hope, honestly. A lot of viewers can't help comparing it to Inuyasha, not just because of the time travel angle but the general vibe of it all, though most agree Mao himself is way more reserved than Inuyasha ever was. Some longtime manga readers admit the story leans repetitive at times, that yokai of the week formula shows up a lot, but the Natsuno and Goshikido mystery has done a lot to keep things fresh lately.
