Will Hell's Paradise Season 3 Happen? Here's What We Know

(Image credit: ©Studio MAPPA | Crunchyroll)
So, Season 2 of Hell's Paradise (or Jigokuraku as it's known in Japan) is almost done, and honestly it has been one of those seasons where every single episode just hits. Now with only two episodes left, pretty much every fan out there is wondering the same thing - is Hell's Paradise Season 3 going to happen? Here is everything pointing toward an answer, plus some reasonable guesses about what comes next.
Season 2 Has Been Quietly Crushing It This Year
Gabimaru and the crew are still stuck deep in Shinsenkyo, pushing through everything the island throws at them in search of the Elixir of Life. The Tensen have been an absolute nightmare to deal with, and things got even messier when the Shogunate sent reinforcements including the Iwagakure clan, a group with some serious unfinished business with Gabimaru specifically. It is also worth remembering why Gabimaru fights at all - as manga creator Yuji Kaku himself put it,
"The main character really needs a strong motivation to survive... So, I made his wife the driving force." - Yuji Kaku, manga creator
The ratings honestly say it all. Season 2 is sitting at 8.24 on MyAnimeList, already clearing Season 1's 8.09, and Episode 7 became the highest rated episode of the whole series with a 9.3. Every single episode this season has stayed above an 8.1, which is pretty rare. If you have been putting it off, now is the time to jump on Crunchyroll or Netflix and get caught up. The official Season 2 trailer alone should be enough to get you hyped. The ending theme song is titled “PERSONAL,” and you can check it out in the latest trailer down below.
What the Last Two Episodes of Season 2 Will Likely Cover
Two episodes left and the story still has a lot of ground to cover. Here is when they are arriving:
- Episode 11 - March 22, 2026
- Episode 12 - March 29, 2026
Right now, the anime has worked its way to around Chapter 80 of the manga, and these last two episodes are going to feel incredibly dense. The clash with the Tensen is heading toward something massive, and Gabimaru himself goes through a noticeable change during this part of the story that manga readers have been looking forward to seeing animated. Honestly Episode 12 wrapping things up neatly feels unlikely. A cliffhanger that leaves everyone desperate for more is almost certainly how this season ends, and that would set up a third season perfectly.
Does the Manga Actually Have Enough Left for Season 3

Honestly, yes. The manga wrapped up at 127 chapters across 13 volumes, and with Season 1 covering around 44 chapters and Season 2 expected to land somewhere similar, there are still roughly 35 to 40 chapters left completely untouched. The stuff that remains is not filler either. It is genuinely some of the most emotionally loaded material in the whole series.
Here is what Season 3 would most likely get into based on where the manga goes:
- The rest of the Hōrai Arc, which is where the story really turns everything up
- The Departure Arc, the part of the manga that actually brings the whole story home
- Gabimaru finally reuniting with his wife after surviving the impossible
- The full resolution of the Tensen storyline and what happens to Shinsenkyo
- Possibly the epilogue one-shot, Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku Side Story - Forest of Misfortune, a short but genuinely touching extra chapter
So, When Could Season 3 Actually Come Out

Nothing official has been announced yet, but looking at how things have gone so far gives a rough idea. Season 1 dropped in 2023 and Season 2 didn't show up until January 2026, so that is close to a three-year gap. Going by that same pace, Season 3 might not land until around 2028, though the fact that there is less content left to adapt could mean MAPPA moves a bit quicker this time around.
Another thing worth keeping in mind is that a full season might not even be the plan. Some genuinely think the remaining story would work better as a movie, and honestly it is hard to argue with that. The final arc has a weight and a cinematic feel to it that could translate beautifully on a bigger scale, and MAPPA has clearly shown they are open to that format with other projects.
Fans Are Rooting Hard for This One to Finish Strong

Here is the thing - between Jujutsu Kaisen's manga ending feeling rushed to many readers, and Chainsaw Man's rumored conclusion leaving fans unsettled, Hell's Paradise has quietly become the one series from the Dark Trio that people are rooting for hardest to finish well. The final arc is genuinely some of the best material in the manga, and there's real hope that MAPPA does it justice. The series has always leaned into the messiness of human nature, which creator Yuji Kaku described perfectly when he noted that,
"Despite condemned criminals and executioners being difficult characters to empathize with, if they share our perspective, then we feel close to them, and they stand out as unique characters." - Yuji Kaku, Hell's Paradise manga creator

Hell's Paradise deserves a proper ending, and if Season 3 happens, it just might deliver one of the most satisfying anime conclusions in recent memory.
